User:Tali64³/Important announcement
Hello everyone. This is a very serious announcement. Following the creation of this Stewards' noticeboard thread, I've decided to announce that Decyclopedia will be moving to an independent domain soon. It's something I've been working on for a few days now, and it's not ready yet, but I'll let you know when it'll be ready and where it'll be at. Over the three years Decyclopedia and I have been on Miraheze, I've had a great time. That is, until an IP editor decided to start vandalizing pages. I've had to revert his edits and block him for a year IP was unblocked and warned.
Note that I am not leaving Miraheze as a whole (at least, not yet), but my motivation recently has been declining for a number of reasons, most notably the passing of an RfC to close a wiki family known as "Qualitipedia", which explained the reception of several types of media through numbered pointers.
Again, I hate to have to make this announcement, but it may end up being necessary for Decyclopedia to exist in its current form.
To 101.185.66.160/2001:8003:B1B8:BF00:45AD:64A:3EBD:C4A7: Thanks for nothing. Tali64³ (talk) 15:44, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
UPDATE: A Steward has confirmed that Decyclopedia is not violating the Content Policy. However, I will still proceed with the transition to an independent domain, since I've already put so much time into it. Tali64³ (talk) 21:26, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
ANOTHER UPDATE: The independent domain is almost ready. I just need to figure out how to fix the main page and how to import images. Tali64³ (talk) 21:18, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
UPDATE 3: I couldn't figure out how to import images with importImages.php, so I used MsUpload instead. I'm still missing half my images. Tali64³ (talk) 23:52, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
UPDATE 4: Holy shit, all the file names are wrong. I'm never using MsUpload again. Tali64³ (talk) 23:55, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
UPDATE 5: That's it, I'm nuking this fucker and starting over. I can just copy the images over, can't I? Tali64³ (talk) 23:59, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
UPDATE 6: I finally figured out how to import all the pages correctly. Turns out I was missing a template, which also happened to be missing vendor packages. To the MediaWiki developer who decided that it'd be a good idea to force everybody to use Git, may all your code be filled with bugs. Tali64³ (talk) 00:46, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
